Make :: Create :: Hack :: Learn

The Bozeman MakerSpace is a non-profit Makerspace / Hackerspace in Bozeman, MT. If you have an interest in making, modding things, new technology, or just want to learn how things work, this is to be the place for you. Our makerspace is a community workshop combined with a meeting space where people of similar interests or skills can converge to create, modify, learn, talk and build. You don't need to be proficient with any tools, skill, computer, or even know how to solder. All you need to the desire to learn or teach.

What is a MakerSpace?

A Makerspace / Hackerspace allows groups of people to pool resources and create a community of people with varied interests. These interests may include but are definitely not limited to: circuitry, robotics, soldering, woodworking, fabricating, programming, networking, hacking, bending, etc.

Meetup: Arduino and Hobby Robotics (Montana Programmers)

Join us as we and other Makers/Programmers from MSU and the Bozeman area come together and talk about Arduino and other Hobby Electronics!

-- Clipped from the Montana Programmers Meetup --
For the main March meetup, we are partnering with the MSU chapters of the Association for Women in Computing (AWC), and the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM).

The presentation will be in Roberts Hall Room 218 (at MSU).

The format will be slightly different than our standard meetups. We will have a several small presentations, and then after the presentations we are planning to go over to Columbo's for pizza and general discussion. I have the back room reserved from 7:30 - 10:00.

Who's presenting:

  • Jade Robbins will be giving a quick intro to Arduino. How to hook up the boards to your computer, what the IDE looks like, and show a simple example program.
  • Daniel Simser and The Bozeman MakerSpace crew will be demoing one or two of their projects for us.
  • Hunter Lloyd will be bringing an NAO robot from the MSU Computer Science department to show off.
